Windows 10 has been available for over seven months now and I still get the question often, "Should I upgrade to Windows 10? They keep bothering me every day to upgrade."
The answer is - that depends. I know that is not what most people want to hear so let me explain. There really isn't a correct answer for everyone, there are a lot of factors to look at.
I will try to break down the answer for most of you in the next few paragraphs.
If you are using a business computer that has some specialized software on it, you should check with the manufacturer of that software to ensure that your program will work correctly in Windows 10.
Right after Windows 10 was available there were a number of anti-virus programs that were not ready for Windows 10. Most of those have since caught up and are not a problem on Windows 10
any longer. I had a customer just this week that was having a few minor issues with Quick Books on Windows 10. If you have researched your software and found no known issues with Windows
10, you might want to switch.
If you are happy with your current version of Windows and don't particularly like change, keep in mind that Microsoft will continue to support Windows 7 until January 14, 2020. So most likely
you will be able to keep using Windows 7 safely on your current computer until it is time to replace it.
So the bottom line is if you like your current operating system there is no problem staying put. But, if you want to change and there is not a software reason why you shouldn't, give me a call
and we can discuss what changes you can expect.
If you decide not to upgrade, I can help you remove that annoying Windows 10 pop-up. Contact me.
